Dear Peter,
I was very sad to learn of Paula's death. I came to know her quite well in two ways. I practiced law with my father, Willard Perlee, in our firm, Perlee and Perlee, at our offices at 501 Hotel Jamestown Bldg. for 26 years from 1973 until his retirement at the end of 1999. For most of that time she worked with John Rhodes just down the hall at Suite 509. I would quite often go down the hall to talk with her or John about various tax situations. During that time we became friendly. At some point John died and I believe that she then went to BWB.
Since I knew her quite well, we continued our friendship because Dave Smolarek was doing our taxes. She was always so kind and helpful. She told me that the bone cancer in her lower leg required a foot amputation, which I know was very painful and difficult.
66 is just way too young to die in this day and age. At times like these it is so important to remember and concentrate on all the happy times you and your family spent together. Those memories never die! She was a wonderful woman who definitely made a positive difference, both personally and professionally, in her corner of the world. That is what we all try to do, and she succeeded. I and many others will miss her.
You will be in our thoughts and prayers as you cope with her loss. We are with you in spirit.
Sincerely, Ren and Patty Perlee

We want you to know we are thinking of you all at this very difficult time. Paula was a wonderful wife & mom & grandma and you will never stop missing her. We have special memories of her from our school years, the great hockey years, and just living in the same village where her sons and our sons could go back and forth between houses and we never had to worry about where they were.
Cherish your memories and share them with each other. She will always be in your hearts.
Our sympathy and prayers.
