Obituary of Rosina Marie Giordano

Rosina Loverme Giordano, 95, passed away October 13th, 2020. Rosina was young at heart and was excited to be once again, with her parents, sisters, and brother and her friends in heaven. In her final days, she showered her family with "I love you". We know that she is with the Lord, and she has been given a new life. She is preceded by her parents, Paul and Sarah Carmen Loverme, sisters, Mary Sanfilippo, Grace Schifano, Lucy Musty and her brother Carmen Loverme. Rosina served her country during WWII, working in defense factories Art Metal and Watsons, as a riveter on planes and parachutes, where she earned the nickname "Rosie the Riveter". She also worked at Truck Lite, Nelson and Butts as a florist, and at Blackstone Corporation. She is survived by her four children, John and Debbie (Depasquale) Giordano of Dunkirk and Joe Giordano of Jamestown, her two daughters Paulette Martin of Boynton Beach Florida and Kathy and Tom Fontana Pompano Beach Florida, along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved dearly. Rosina was lovingly and respectfully cared for by her family and friends, especially her cousin and longtime caregiver Louann Malta and Linda Alfieri who comforted her with quality care, compassion and love. Words cannot express our heartfelt thankfulness and gratitude to these two wonderful women. She was grateful to know and love each and every friend as well as family members, and you can look for her in the evening sunset or with the earliest spring daises, and you will know she will be there in one form or another. She will be missed dearly, but our wonderful memories of her will live on and make us smile and laugh. A graveside service will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 2415 Dow Street, October 21st, at 3 pm. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of her family.
