Obituary of Donna K. Bakewell

Donna K. Bakewell, 81, of The Magnolia, 106 West Main St. Frewsburg, NY, passed away at 7:08 pm Monday, December 14, 2020, in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident, she was born December 6, 1939, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Herbert and Ruth J. Lindahl Kennedy. Donna was a 1957 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Business College. Before her retirement in 2004, she was employed by H & H Metal Speciality, Inc. in Jamestown for several years and had also worked for the Bakewell Insurance Company. In earlier years she was a member of the Jamestown Jayncee's and the Chautauqua County Mental Health Association and was an avid reader. Surviving are her four children; Cheryl (Steve) Lamonica of Pittsford, NY, Tammy Bakewell of Jamestown, NY, Karen (Joe) Bakewell-Guzinski of Fairport, NY, Richard "Rick" (Louise) Bakewell of Jamestown, NY, two grandchildren; Chelsea (Steve) Malley, Ashley (Andrew) Pluta both of Pittsford, NY, five great grandchildren, a brother; Monte (Marilyn Sundlov) Kennedy of Ashville, NY, a nephew Bryan Kennedy of Lakewood, NY, and her longtime friend, Al Johnson. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, services will be private and visitation will not be observed at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made the James Prendergast Library, 509 Cherry St. Jamestown, NY 14701 or to the American Cancer Society.
