Obituary of Oleita M. Utter

Oleita M. Utter formerly of Memory Garden, Jamestown, NY, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 17, 2020, in the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA. She was born July 3, 1936, in Short Track, NY a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ludwig Ricketts. Oleita was married September, 20, 1969, in Lakewood, NY, to Burdette Utter and who preceded her in death August 10, 2010. She was a 1955 graduate of Nunda Central School, Nunda, NY. Oleita worked for Cummins Engine Company in Jamestown, NY and Columbus, IN from 1975-98. In addition to her career at Cummins, she raised her family and had several pets. After she retired she volunteered at Columbus Regional Hospital. She loved to crochet and made many Afghans for her family. She also collected Dickens Village Christmas houses. She loved to read and watched all sports. She had a big heart for all animals and will be remembered for her fun sense of humor and love of laughing. While living in Lakewood, NY, Mrs. Utter attended Lakewood United Methodist Church. Surviving are four children Terry Kirkby of Indianapolis, IN, Kathleen (Ray) Worton of Columbus, IN, Raymond Monteleone of Columbus, IN and Steve Monteleone of Jamestown; grandchildren Nicole Blackley, Brittni Kirkby, Jason Kirkby, Chelsey Golliher, Angelica Monteleone, Joshua Monteleone, Jordan Monteleone, Madison Johnson, Jeremy Monteleone; several great grandchildren; a brother Gary (Carolyn) Ricketts of Short Track, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. Due to current restrictions of the pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Visitation will not be observed.
