Joe was our neighbor on Hughes St in Jamestown. He was so kind and generous. He bought my son savings bonds on several occasions. He always had time to wave or have a conversation in the driveway. I know he will be missed by many.
My deepest condolences,
Mary Stahlsmith Cook

Mrs Chimera, Joe, Janine, Tim, Jeff,
So very sorry to hear about Joe. He was a very kind man with a good heart. A true gentleman in all sense of the word. Although we were neighbors for many years, our families are much more than that. We will always have a connection based on friendship, love, and respect. Whether it was driving us to school each morning when we were kids, attending our weddings or family funerals, or just running into each other at the store, he always greeted you with a big smile and a warm handshake. That was your dad.
My deepest condolences go to your family. He will always be remembered in our memories. Rest In Peace Joe. Until we meet again.

Tim and family:
So sorry for the loss of your dad. He was such a nice man, with a great sense of humor. He (and your mom) always treated us like we were their children. He looked out for us and always wished us the best.
Even though he is no longer with us, we will always have these wonderful memories of him. I hope you find peace during this difficult time.
Cathy and I send our deepest condolences to you and your family. Soon, we will all be together to celebrate his life properly.
Paul and Cathy

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr. Chimera was one of my favorite teachers. He had every student sign his book at the beginning of the year so he could look back and remember us. I never forgot him either. He was a bright light in my life during a dark period. Thank you!

To read of Mr. Chimera's passing caused me great sadness....I was one of the many students whose lives were affected by his Great Teaching and his personal charism. I was also one of the few who shared his Love of the US Navy as we both became Navy Hospital Corpsman and shared time at the Naval Reserve Training center in Jamestown!! I will always remember my time as his Student as his comrade in arms and today as a Parish Priest I will hold him, his dear wife, Dolly and the entire Family in my Prayers and in the Coming Masses.
Thank you Mr. Chimera for your influence and for your Guidance! V. Rev. Fr. Albert J Oneto, Boston, MA...

I am so sad to read about Joe's passing. He was a man that I admired - a devoted family man, an excellent teacher, a military veteran, a devout Christian and a loyal friend. I consider myself lucky to have known Joe Chimera.

I had Joe as my 5th grade teacher at Ring school. He was the most patient and kind teacher. I am 54 years old and everytime I would see him out he would still remember me. My deepest condolences.
