So saddened to learn of George's passing, but blessed to have met him. George was truly loved by all and was such a generous, caring soul with the best smile. His many accomplishments are admired and appreciated, just like him. Prayers to his family and many friends. He will be dearly missed.

Sorry I am just seeing this in the PJ. Adam and family, I remember your mom and dad at Ashville Grocery. Best subs ever! Your dad always seemed to be smiling from what I can remember. We, Ashville residents, I am sure can all attest when the store went out how sad we all were. Congratulations to your dad for being inducted in the Hall of Fame, and being able to experience it days before his death. What a great compliment and accomplishment! RIP George, prayers to your family.

To My Dear Cousins and Vicky, So much we have lost in the past few weeks and how proud we should be of the "Barone Boys." George was a loving uncle to me and made his mark in the community and on the ball fields. He loved his kids and grandkids. I will miss him and will keep him in my prayers. Love, Lisa (Barone) Wallace P.S. I would light a Cleveland red candle if it were offered! OX

The family of Lee 'Barney" Kellogg (1932-1995) extends to each of you our most sincere sympathies in George's passing. He was a fixture in our area; and probably something his 'younger family' would not know:
....................my parents and his parents were the greatest of friends for years of our, George and my, youth.
I remember many card-playing nights in our home and my parents going to their home, as I remember over the Drug Store, when George, Sr., was druggist.
I especially remember Georgie, in OUR youth (MANY YEARS AGO) singing Johnny Ray's /"CRY", and tearing up the stage, ON HIS KNEES, as well as most of his clothing. What a ham!
I spoke with George by phone, several months ago; we reminisced and I wished him well, knowing his time was drawing 'near,' he was very forthcoming speaking of his illness
He coached my Van Every sons in their love of sports, baseball being their 1st love(s).
George SHOULD HAVE graduated with MY Class of '60; but, managed to 'hang-in there' a couple MORE YEARS. He just LOVED SCHOOL: yea, right!!
To each of you, from me: HE LIVED HIS DREAMS; HE'S EARNED HIS 'REST.'
MAY HE 'REST' IN PEACE.

George made an impact on everyone he encountered. George and Vicky used to come through my line when I worked as a cashier at Wegmans. George was always smiling (even when he didn’t feel well).
Vicky.... I’m blessed to have gotten to know you and George!
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My son Matt Hanson played for him and liked George. He was a good and fair man. He also Liked the Indians which we did, I remember giving him an Indians program/book from a game we were at. George loved baseball and the kids, and the Indians. RIP to a great coach and man.

To the Barone family,
George used to be at our house a lot growing up. My brother Rich Lindstrom and George were good friends. He was a great guy and I knew he was involved in baseball, but never knew he was that involved.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

Dear Brooke, Heather and Family....We are all so sad to have lost such a great friend and mentor. The impact George had on the youth of Jamestown will last forever. I was so fortunate to have known and coached with George. The time I spent with him (along with Coach Tantillo) a few months ago was a day I won’t forget...,talking baseball, reminiscing and laughing. A great day. Please know you are all in my thoughts and in my heart. R.I.P. Coach. Sincerely, Doug
