Obituary of Frances I. Mynes

Frances Irene Mynes, 96, of Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ Tuesday evening, Jan. 19, 2021 from complications related to Covid-19. Born in Stotesbury, WV, the fourth of nine children, to George and Lillie Hester, "Irene" lived the majority of her early years in southern West Virginia, graduating from Logan High School in 1943. In 1947, "Irene" married Thomas E. Mynes of Huntington, WV, where the two settled to raise their three children. Frances Irene is preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, and six of her brothers and sisters. Surviving are her children: Sharon Martin of Huntington, WV & Loris, SC, Steven Mynes (Linda) of Lakewood, NY and Toni Napier of Anna, TX; her sister, Margaret Albright of Portsmouth, VA and brother, George O'Grady Hester, Jr. of Suffolk, VA. As well, surviving are two grandchildren: John Cartwright of Huntington, WV and Courtney Ballard of Van Alstyne, TX, along with great granddaughter Charlie Ballard and great grandson Maverick Ballard of Van Alstyne. Being one of nine, Irene was blessed to have enjoyed a substantial extended family of nieces and nephews which are spread across the U.S. Burial, alongside her beloved husband, will take place at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington, WV. Funeral services are being arranged through Henson & Kitchen Funeral Home in Huntington, WV, with assistance locally from Lind Funeral Home. The details and date of services have not been finalized as of this time, but will be forthcoming in the coming days.
