Obituary of Frederick R. Keifer

Frederick R. Keifer, 87, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 5:30 am Friday, January 29, 2021, in his home, following a lengthy illness. A lifelong area resident, he was born June 25, 1933 in Celoron, NY, a son of the late Edgar Neal and Isabelle Clark Keifer. Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from March 23, 1953 to March 10, 1955 during the Korean War. Before his retirement he was employed by Jamestown Metal Products and earlier for the Ethan Allen and the AMSCO Corporation. Following his retirement, he was a bus driver for the Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System. He was a member of the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion, Celoron and loved to play pinochle with his friends. He was also a member of the Cornplanters Drum and Bugle Corp of Warren, PA and the Viking Lodge Drum and Bugle Corp of Jamestown. He is survived by Pat Keifer and their three children; Connie (Jeff) Tonger of Frewsburg, NY, Lynn (Keith) Seaburg of Lakewood, NY, Neal (Amy) Keifer of Jamestown, NY, five grandchildren; Megan (Floyd) Kent of Bemus Point, NY, Shannon (Jake) Walsh of Bluffton,SC, Ryan (Jordan) Seaburg of Buffalo, NY, Erin (Alex) Lazarony of Dansville, NY, Cody Keifer of Jamestown, four great grandchildren; Charlotte Kent, Jameson Kent, Jackson Walsh, Cooper Walsh, and a sister, Barbara Johnson of Jamestown, NY. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Keifer. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd.
