She was born December 27, 1952 in Jamestown, NY, the oldest daughter of the late Charles E. and Judith Smith Norquist, Jr
Debbie was a 1971 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned her bachelor's degree in education from the Muskingum University in New Concord, OH.
Debbie will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend. Her kind and generous nature led everyone who knew her to refer to her as the nicest person you would ever know. It is difficult to mention her name in any setting near Cambridge, OH without hearing that she was their 2nd grade teacher and the best teacher they ever had. She was generous and creative and loved giving beautiful gifts she crocheted or embroidered to her friends and family. She was an amazing listener who could find the positive in any situation and made you feel good about yourself. Her gifts will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving is her husband of 40 years, Chris Furry of Pleasant City, OH, her children; Kristen Furry of Cambridge, OH, Nathan (Emily) Furry of Hampton, VA, Alison (Brett Ennis) Furry of Bountiful, UT, her grandchildren: Madison, Lauren and Christopher Furry of Hampton, VA, three sisters; Sallie (Noel O'Flanagan) Norquist of Verona, NJ, Mary (Steve) Moynihan of Portland, OR, Janet (Dave) Baglia of Holly Springs, NC, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Cambridge, OH.
A memorial celebration will be held in the summer at the convenience of the family.
