Obituary of Richard E. Fiore

Richard E. Fiore, 71, of Fisher Hill Road, Kennedy, died Sunday February 14, 2021, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 28, 1949, in Jamestown, a son of the late Frederick and Dorothy Sanford Fiore. He was a 1967 graduate of Jamestown High School. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the US Navy from 1969-72. Prior to his retirement he was co-owner of Aldex Excavating. He earlier had worked for Barnes Construction and Forest Rowen Concrete. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, love of adventure, boisterous personality, his love of family and his devotion to God and his Church. Surviving is his wife Christine Moore Fiore, whom he married November 10, 2004; a daughter Cynthia (Steve Wilson) Fiore of Frewsburg; grandson Brodie Davis of Rome, NY; two stepchildren Elizabeth (Adam) Nevadomski and James Siddall, both of New Jersey; step-grandson Adam Nevadomski Jr. of New Jersey and siblings Dennis (Paula) Fiore of Virginia, Linda (Duane) Arnold of Florida, Kathy (Dale) Stromseth of Minnesota, Marilyn (Jeff) Lehman of Jamestown and David Fiore of Jamestown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara DeChant Fiore, whom he married October 6, 1967 and who died September 7, 2000. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, Falconer. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Avenue.
