I am so sorry to hear of Bart passing. I knew Bart from when I was old enough to go to the Johnson’s Florist and be in the way. Eventually I became old enough to work there and I think every kid in the area worked there at one time or another and Bart was there most of the time. Remember him taking care of the boilers that were used to heat the greenhouse. I will never forget the 1957 Oldsmobile he purchased new and gave us kids a ride in it. Eventually Phyllis became the main person in the 57 Olds and the rest is history. What a fantastic family and always a pleasure to associate with. There are many, many fond memories and too many to reflect here in this venue. He will be remembered by me and the times we shared together as work mates at the florist. A fine man he was and will be missed by many that knew him. Phyllis, Bart and Steve please accept my deepest sympathy to you and the rest of the family.

My love and Deepest Sympathy goes out to Phyllis and her family. So sad to read this obituary. Bart and I grew up on Pearl Avenue and as kids, Bart, Dick, Richard, Deann, Sharon, and Judy, we used to play baseball, and whatever else we could think of, in the empty lot across the street. In the winter we used to play "King of the Mountain" on the hill next to his house, and Halloween, oh what fun. We had a great childhood together. So glad as an adult I was able to see him and Phyllis when they lived on Sampson St. Working at Johnson The Florist was an experience in itself. Great memories. Rest in Peace and I will visit you at Lakeview.
