Obituary
Obituary of Kathleen H. Stein
Kathleen "Kathy" H. Stein, 66, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2021.
Kathy was a lifelong resident of Jamestown, New York. She was born on January 10, 1955, a daughter to the late John R. Gustafson and Mary Louise Gustafson. She was a 1973 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Kathy spent her entire life being a devoted wife, mother, and grandma. Her proudest and happiest moments were watching her two daughters grow and later her two grandchildren, who were her entire world. Kathy would spend endless hours showing pictures and videos of Bianca and Ethan to family members and friends. She especially enjoyed her vacations to Florida where she spent morning to night playing with her grandchildren. We will miss hearing her say her "I love you to the moon and back," which she said each and every time she would get off the phone with Bianca and Ethan. Kathy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her sweet and friendly disposition was contagious and many of Keelyn and Kelly's friends throughout the years referred to her as a second mom. Over the years she was known as the neighborhood babysitter. She welcomed many children of friends and neighbors into her home and loved them like her own.
Surviving is her husband of 46 years, Darwin Stein, whom she married in 1974; two daughters, Keelyn Meselsohn (Jamie) and Kelly Kulju (Brian); her two grandchildren: Bianca Kulju and Ethan Meselsohn; her brothers: John "Steve" Gustafson (Linda), Tim Gustafson, and Mark Gustafson (Kathy); her sister, Deb Gustafson Jacobs (Randy); two brothers-in-law, Darrell Stein and Derrick Stein; her nieces and nephews: Aleena Cuoco (Jason), Mindy Gustafson, Chris Gustafson (Michael), Matt Gustafson (Ericka), Hana Gustafson, Morgan Gustafson, Emma Gustafson, Jason (Danielle) Jacobs, Josh (Renee) Jacobs, and Logan Stein; and great nieces and nephews: Hunter Vorhaben, Georgia Gustafson, Mia Gustafson, Maverick Gustafson, and Gavin Cuoco.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Gustafson.
In keeping with Kathy's wishes no visitation will be observed. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. A Celebration Of Life will take place later this year.
Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
