Obituary of Marcus R. Bjork

Marcus R. Bjork, 71, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, in UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. A lifelong area resident, he was born January 22, 1950 in Jamestown, NY, a son of Phyllis Larson Bjork and the late Richard M. Bjork. He was a 1969 graduate of Southwestern Central School. For many years Marcus was an independent contractor around the Jamestown area. In previous years he worked in the maintenance department at Jamestown Community College and also worked at the former Art Metal Corporation. He also loved spending time at the family cottage on Lake Erie where he did several projects over the years. Surviving is his mother, Phyllis Bjork of Jamestown, two brothers; Randall (Kimberly) Bjork of Lockport, NY, Daniel (Cindy) Bjork of Twinsburg, OH, his nieces and nephews; Aaron (Andrea) Bjork of Jamestown, Lindsay (Michael) Coulombe of Springville, NY, Kimberly (Mark) Ortega of Twinsburg, OH and his great nieces and nephews; Margaret, Damien and Garrett Coulombe, Gabriella, Sarah and Julianna Ortega. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard M. Bjork who died July 13, 2012. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Aaron Bjork, his nephew, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received on a walk through basis from 12:00 to 2:00 pm Thursday in the funeral home where social distancing will be observed and masks must be worn while inside the funeral home.
