Obituary of Sharon A. Passarelli

Sharon A. Passarelli, 75, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 9:17 pm Saturday, April 3, 2021, in her home. An area resident for most of her life, she was born November 15, 1945 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late David J. and Violet Farrar Sturges. Sharon was a 1963 graduate of Panama Central School and earned her registered nurse's degree from the St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing in Ogdensburg, NY. Before her retirement in 2013, she was a registered nurse at WCA Hospital working in the Occupational Health Department. In earlier years she had worked as a nurse manager at the St. Lawrence Medical Clinic in Morrisburg, Ontario and briefly at the Winchester Hospital. She was a member of the Panama United Methodist Church where she was co-chairman of the mission team and a member of the Chat Group. She enjoyed spending time with her craft girls who have been meeting for the past 20 years and also the Rummoli Group from Canada and getting together with her coffee buddies. She will be remembered for her love of gardening, being outdoors, walking, reading, and golfing. Surviving is her husband, Theodore "Ted" Passarelli, whom she married June 2, 2007, two step-children; Lisa Passarelli and her children, Roman and Lola Luedke of Hamburg, NY, Michael (Darcy) Passarelli and their daughter, Amalia Passarelli of Ballston Spa, NY, a sister, Laura Mae (Larry) Nelson of Bemus Point, NY, two brothers, Jack (Linda) Sturges of Corry, PA, Richard Sturges of Rochester, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Barbara Sturges who passed away on February 16, 2021. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Friday in the Panama United Methodist Church. The Rev. Stephen Taylor, pastor will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Grant Cemetery, Niobe, NY, at a later date. Friends will be received on a walk through basis from 4-7 pm Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home where social distancing will be observed and masks must be worn while inside the funeral home.
