Obituary of Jason R. Gould
Jason Ronald Gould, 45, of Cowing Road, Lakewood, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 9, 2021, at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital.
He was born June 2, 1975, in Springville, NY, to Dolores Steffan Gould and the late Ronald Gould.
Jason was a graduate of Southwestern High School where he played football. He also achieved an Associate's Degree from SUNY JCC and Bachelor's Degree in History Education from SUNY Fredonia. He was employed for many years by GA Child and Family Services as a counselor.
A lover of music, Jason was a passionate DJ. He collected vinyl records and loved to "scratch," creating his own beats and sounds.
Jason had an inquiring mind and adored history, studying the U.S. Constitution and sharing his knowledge with the world.
A vehicle enthusiast, he rebuilt a Mercury Capri, participating in competitive drag racing. He also loved the outdoors, camping and hosting bonfires with family and friends.
Most of all, Jason enjoyed spending time with his children and was a proud father.
Besides his mother, surviving are his two children Justin R. Gould, of Randolph, and Hailey R. Gould, of Jamestown, twin sister Julie (Robert) Jaffy, two aunts Marilyn Hale and Kathleen Keith, uncle William Steffan, many cousins, his special grandmother Evelyn Sundholm and his dog Holly.
A walk-through visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Lind Funeral Home in Jamestown. A private funeral service, which will be livestreamed online, will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Jason will be laid to rest at Sunset Hill Cemetery near his father.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750 or Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
