Obituary of Barry D. Brown
Barry D. "Buller" Brown,79, of Jamestown, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 in UPMC Chautauqua.
He was born Feb. 14, 1942 in Bemus Point, a son of the late Walter I. and Frances R. Burroughs Brown.
Barry was a 1960 graduate of the former Bemus Point High School and was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Vietnam War.
He was a package delivery driver for United Parcel Service for 30 years retiring in 2000.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was also a member of the Ellery Post 947 American Legion and the War Vets Recreation, Inc., where he was a past president and currently on the board of directors.
Barry enjoyed hunting with his boys, fishing, golf, playing bell jar tickets, and in earlier years played baseball and softball. He was an avid sports fan.
Barry is survived by his wife, Sara A. Henneman Brown, whom he married July 3, 1964; two sons: Douglas (Teaa) Brown of Falconer and Kevin (Keri) Brown of Wexford, PA; three grandchildren: Eric, Alexia, and Nathan Brown; a step-grandson Simon Russo; a brother Thomas (Julie) Brown; a sister Laurrie (Gary) Josephson; a cousin Karlene Gustafson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy and Brian Brown.
A walk-through visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 in the Lind Funeral Home where face masks must be worn and social distancing observed.
A private family service will immediately follow visitation in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to War Vets Recreation, Inc., 3431 Fluvanna Avenue, Jamestown, NY 14701 or the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220.
