Obituary of Alexis Diaz Rodriguez

Alexis Diaz Rodriguez, 43, of Jamestown, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 unexpectedly at home. He was born on March 18, 1978 in Puerto Rico, a son of Ismael Diaz Rodriguez and Victoria A. Rodriguez Nieves. He was a 1997 graduate of Jamestown High School and was baptized and raised in the Catholic faith. He will be remembered for always willing to help others. He loved his family and was a great father. He enjoyed playing baseball, watching football, and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was currently employed as a driver for MJ Transportation in Buffalo and had previously worked at Castelli America cheese factory in Ashville. Alexis is survived by his father Ismael Diaz Rodriguez; a son Randy Omar Diaz; sisters: Abigail (Daniel) Diaz Rodriguez Martinez, Heyrie M. Diaz Rodriguez, Zaira M. Diaz Rodriguez, Debbie Diaz Guzman; brothers Alex M. Diaz Rodriguez and Ismael (Lito) Diaz Guzman; sister- in- law Jomary Martinez; his companion Janet Poupart; a stepdaughter Zoe Diaz; a stepson Jan Erck Rivera; and many nieces and nephews including Jaquelin Martinez, Limerka Diaz, and Victor Cruz, who he was especially close to. Alexis was preceded in death by his mother Victoria A. Rodriguez Nieves on Jan. 2, 2013 and a brother Jose Daniel Diaz Rodriguez on July 4, 1998. Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in Lind Funeral Home. Face masks must be worn and social distancing observed while in the funeral home. There will be no service observed.
