Obituary of Marie A. Mallare

Marie A. Mallare, 94, formerly of 213 Huxley St. Jamestown, passed away at 4:16 pm Friday, May 14, 2021, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born July 21, 1926 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Carl and Emma Terrano Mangine. Marie was a graduate of Jamestown High School and the Northwestern Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, Minn. She will be remembered as a loving and caring housewife and homemaker for her husband Joe and was also associated with the family business, Mallare's Restaurant in Jamestown. Marie also worked for many years as a lab technician at Jamestown General Hospital. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish and in earlier years at St. James Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are several nieces and nephews including; Mark (Sandy) Mallare of MD, Maureen (Jon) Stahley of Bemus Point, NY, Ronald (Teresa) Mallare of KS, Brian (Kathleen) Mallare of MD and GA, Kathleen (Stan) Collver of Jamestown, NY, Marcia (Drew) Robbins of FL, Bradley (Lynn) Mallare of OH, Annette Mulkin of CO, Susan Seligman of AZ, Christine Long of UT, Lisa Merschlitz of PA, Anthony Mangine of AZ, Carl Mangine of AZ, Carl Mangine of OR, Patricia Murphy of CA, and Cynthia Mangine of CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Mallare, whom she married July 23, 1949 and who died March 11, 2016 and two brothers, Anthony Mangine and Angelo Mangine. A memorial service will be held on July 9, 2021 at 4:00 pm in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial was in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
