Obituary of Hayriye Sessiz

Hayriye "Irene" Sessiz, 98, formerly of 26 W. Third Street in Jamestown, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing in Gerry, NY. Irene was born February 17, 1923 in Istanbul, Turkey and was the daughter of the late Ahmet and Fatma Sessiz. She came to the United States in 1952 and after residing in Jamestown for a time, lived in Texas and New York City before returning to Jamestown. Irene had a keen ear for learning different languages and was a kind-hearted soul who loved to meet people and loved animals. Following her wishes, no services will be observed. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
