Obituary of Mary Jane Nordsiek

Mary Jane Nordsiek, 89, of 165 Aldren Avenue, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 30, 1931, in Allegheny County, PA, daughter of the late Thomas and Rose Remacle Coll. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by WCA Hospital as a ward clerk. She and her late husband, Clem, were co-owners of Willow Run Golf Course in earlier years. Jane was dedicated to community by volunteering with many organizations including Meals on Wheels (Volunteer of the Year 2005) with her dear friend Carolyn Thomas, The Audubon Society (100+ hours), Lutheran Social Services, and the Salvation Army. Surviving are her children Patricia (Bradley) Lefford of Jamestown and Michael Nordsiek of Phoenixville, PA; seven grandchildren Matthew and Sarah Lefford, Christopher (Sara) Nordsiek, Lauren (Will) Angelos, Scott Nordsiek, Devin (Morgan Swanson) Mitchell, and April (Dr. Tyler) Foster; three great grandchildren Finn and George Nordsiek and Lillian Angelos; and two sisters Sue Ann Crytzer of Surfside Beach, SC and Elizabeth Blackburn of Natrona Heights, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Clarence "Clem" Nordsiek, whom she married on October 4, 1952; daughter Karen Sue Mitchell, infant son Frederick Thomas Nordsiek; and niece, Jessica Crytzer. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family and visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua Region Community Foundation - Karen S.
