I just heard. Benjamin and I shared a bottle of wine a few years ago in Mexico and the conversation we had changed the trajectory of my life. I'd been in a very different place on a very different path if it wasn't for his advice and assistance. I'm sorry we won't meet again in this lifetime.

I am sorry for your loss. I worked with Benjamin on several software development projects over the last three years, and I found him to be an outstanding colleague -- smart, conscientious, and always able to solve problems -- as well as an excellent person. It seemed to me he was able to live the life he wanted -- even though it was far too short. Benjamin will be missed.

A philosopher once said. “If a man does not keep pace with us, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or faraway.”
Our nephew Benjamin, fiercely independent, did not keep pace with most of us. He chose his own path and pace and for that reason should be an inspiration to all of us. We believe that Ben’s drummer was a maestro, a master of his instrument and a musician capable of great symphonies. His passing has left us with an unfinished composition; an incredible loss and for that we are terribly sad. Never a harsh word and always a smile on his face he was always ready for new adventures and challenges; a zest for life that many strive for but never obtain. He bravely faced the sun with the knowledge of his limited time, but unlike others he leaves no shadows, only points of lights. We will miss him greatly and will always cherish the times we were able to be a part of his journey and life.

I grew up with Ben from as far back as I can remember. Can’t think of a time where he wasn’t there playing pick up games, riding bikes, playing cards, being kids together. I don’t think I ever saw him upset. He was always a genuine kind person, open to anything, always with a smile. After graduating it was, where is Ben? What’s he up to now? Always doing his own thing taking him wherever he felt like going and seeing. Last met him for dinner here in Phoenix probably 5 years ago. I was captivated listening to where he has been, things he had done and seen. He relayed plans of traveling down and through South America on his motorcycle. I asked him if he spoke Spanish and he said, “well not much but I’ll learn.” Left dinner a couple hours later gave him a hug and wished him well, looking forward to the next time I could see, visit, and hear more of his adventures. I’ll miss him, but I can’t imagine him having too many regrets in his life. He lived it to its fullest. My condolences to his family
