Obituary
Obituary of Daniel L. Swanson
Daniel L. Swanson, 68, of Lakewood, NY passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 22, 2021 in his home.
He was born August 12, 1952 in Jamestown and was the son of the late LaVerne and Delores See Swanson.
Dan graduated from Southwestern Central School, Jamestown Community College and held his Master Plumber License. As a master plumber, he was a member of the Plumber's Union Local 22. Dan had also achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
There was nothing that Dan could not build and fix. He was known in the community as both highly skilled and highly creative. He volunteered with the Red Cross and his churches. He always insisted on taking the time to complete a job the right way. He was a brilliant artist, with both music and his trade, and always quick to crack a joke with his own brand of humor. Dan's gifts will live on in his children and grandchildren and he will be remembered as a loving father.
Dan is survived by two daughters: Jessica (Kevin) Weaver of Woodbridge, VA and Sarah (Kyle) Long of Buffalo; a son, Matthew Swanson of Jamestown; and seven grandchildren: Allegra and Liam Weaver, Wyatt, Violet and Elliott Long, and Harrison and Sylvia Swanson. Also surviving is a sister, Lynn (David) Allen of Busti, and an uncle, Kenneth (Shirley) See of Randolph.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an aunt and uncle, Beverly and Wayne Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Meals On Wheels, 2020 Allen St. Ext., Falconer, NY 14733.
