Obituary of Pamela A. McCallum

Pamela Ann McCallum, 78, formerly of 36 Peck Ave., Chautauqua, NY passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Heritage Green Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing. She was born September 21, 1942 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Robert and Eleanor Kiszeski McCallum. She graduated from Bemus Point High School in 1960, and Cortland State University in 1964 with a degree in Physical Education. She worked as a Physical Education teacher at State College Area High School and a Track and Field Track coach in the 1980's. She then graduated from the Jamestown Community College Nursing program in the early 1990's and worked as a Cardiac LPN at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis Maryland. She spent her summers at Chautauqua Institution sailing, playing tennis and entertaining her grandchildren. She was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church, a graduate of the Chautauqua Literary and Science Circle, a member of Chautauqua Women's Club, Annapolis Tree and Garden Club, and Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club where she sailed E Scows with her father and her sister in the 1960's. As an eighteen year old she was awarded the title of 'Queen of Lake' by the Bemus Point Chautauqua Lake Waterski Club. As an avid tennis player, she attended the USTA League National Doubles Tennis Championships in Arizona in 2009. Pamela is survived by her sister, Linda McCallum of Jamestown; Pamela's four children: Brooke Kennington Kelly of Lakewood, Parrish Lee Kennington of Lakewood, Paige Kennington Lind of Boston, and Thomas McCallum Kennington of State College Pa.; nine grandchildren: Thomas Kelly, John Kelly, Patrick Kelly, Phoebe Lind, McCallum Lind, Rex Lind, Tommy Kennington, Luke Kennington and Rose Kennington; and by her sister Linda's children, Meghan Hayes and Brook Hayes. She was preceded in death by Thomas Kenneth Kennington in 2016. A private memorial service will be held in St. Luke's Episcopal Church Chapel when she will be entombed in the Chapel Columbarium.
