Obituary of Katherine A. Lynn

Katherine A. Lynn, 98, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Forest Ave. Jamestown, NY, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, in Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, FL. A lifelong resident of Jamestown, NY where she was born August 10, 1922, a daughter of the late John Walfred and Elizabeth Wheeler Carlson. In earlier years she had been employed at the JoAnn Fabric Store after being a housewife and homemaker while raising her family. She was a member of the First Covenant Church and was involved with several women's circles of the church. She also attended the St. Luke's Episcopal Church where she enjoyed listening to her grandson, Joshua Stafford play the organ. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was also an accomplished seamstress and loved doing crafts. Surviving are her three daughters; Kathy (Steve) Lindstrom of Jamestown and FL, Deborah O'Reilly of Cape Coral, FL, Lori (Kevin) Stafford of Kernersville, NC, her daughter-in-law, Patty Lynn of Cary, NC, eight grandchildren; Elizabeth Lynn Catalanos, Mark Lindstrom, Matthew Lindstrom, Ryan O'Reilly, Meghan O'Reilly West, Shannon O'Reilly Dudley, Joshua Stafford, Nicole Muniz, and 11 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Donald A. Lynn who died August 12, 2016, a son, Donald A. Lynn, Jr, who died November 9, 2011, and her three brothers, Alan Carlson, John L. Carlson, and Walter W. Carlson and a nephew, Dale Carlson. The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, July 6, 2021, in the Lind Funeral Home. John Carlson, her nephew will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm Tuesday, two hours prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway, Cape Coral, FL 33909.
