Obituary of Barbara B. Yahn
Barbara B. Yahn 82, of Lakewood, NY passed away June 27th 2021 in Naples, Florida, surrounded by her husband and three children at her side. She was born in Jamestown on July 18th 1938 at the WCA Hospital to Robert and Edith Buchan.
Barb lived an incredible life and will be forever remembered for the love and devotion to her family and friends. She had an exceptional positive spirit and zest for life up until the very end. She loved all animals and had a true passion for travel that took her all over the world which she thoroughly enjoyed with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was an avid skier enjoying her winters with the family in Ellicottville on the slopes of Holiday Valley, a competitive sailor through CLYC, tennis player and golfer. She attended Jamestown High School, the Knox School in Long Island, and graduated from Marjorie Webster College in Washington, DC with a degree in Physical Education where she taught for one year before returning home to work at Bigelow's Dept. Store. Later, she opened and managed the Yodeler Ski Shop in Jamestown, NY.
Over the years she was actively involved in her community as a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown, NY, member and past board member of Creche, Inc. 1969-1995, past board member of the Agnes Home, member of the Jamestown Garden Club since 1979, Norden Women's Club, W.C.A. Hospital Auxiliary, Moonbrook Country Club, Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club, Ellicottville Ski Club (since 1960), DAR, the Vikings, Audubon and the Fenton Historical Society.
She is survived by her husband Allen J. "Skip" Yahn whom she married October 23th 1965; three children: Kristen (Peter) Kreinheder of Lakewood, NY, Sara (Phineas) DeMink of Bemus Point, NY, and Robert (Susan) Yahn of Denver, CO; eight grandchildren: Abby, Ellie, and Sophie Kreinheder, Porter, Trey, and Fletcher DeMink, and Axel and Wiley Yahn; as well as her brother, Will (Kathy) Buchan and niece, Alexandra (Tim) and her son, Will Fitzsimmons, all of Stowe, VT.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Edith Buchan of Jamestown, NY.

Yahn Humane Society Endowment Fund at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, 418 Spring St., Jamestown, NY 14701; or the Allen J. and Barbara B. Yahn Family Fund for WCA Pediatrics, PO Box 840, Jamestown, NY 14702-0840.
No visiting hours will be observed. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church, 509 Prendergast Avenue in Jamestown. The Rev. Robert J. Hagel will officiate.
