Obituary of Sally J. Beckstrom

Sally J. Beckstrom, 75, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 12:15 pm Thursday, July 1, 2021, in her home following a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family. A lifelong area resident, she was born July 3, 1945, Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Magnus "Mack" and Doris Russell Beckstrom. Sally was a 1963 graduate of Jamestown High School. Before her retirement in 2001, she was a senior account clerk for the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities. In earlier years she had worked for the City of Jamestown Welfare Department and the Marlin Rockwell Corporation. She was a longtime member of the Allen Park Women's Club, where she served as Secretary and Treasurer for several years. She was also a volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the Big Brother-Big Sister Program. She loved being a big sister to Sheila Harper, with whom she spent many happy times together. Surviving is her longtime companion, Roger Heeter, with whom she made her home and a brother, Mack Beckstrom of Las Vegas, NV, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Beckstrom Johnson and Jacklyn Beckstrom Horn. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
