Obituary of Barbara H. Palm

Barbara H. Palm, 92, formerly of Jackson Avenue, West Ellicott, died Monday July 5, 2021, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A lifelong area resident, she was born December 12, 1928, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late John and Hildur Bohlin Hammerstrom. She was a 1946 graduate of Celoron High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Chase Bank, formerly First National Bank, for 22 years as mortgage department secretary. She earlier had worked for HUD Housing and Lindner Management Company. She was a former member of the Herman Kent Post American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are four children Robert (Judy) Palm of Laplace, LA, Susan (Tim) Burns of Rock Hill, SC, James (Barbara) Palm of Ellicott City, MD, and Sally Palm of Jamestown; 6 grandchildren Chris Carlson, Amy Quilty, Eric Palm, Heather Palm, Tyler Palm and Emily Snyder and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Palm whom she married in 1947 and who died in 1985 and a granddaughter Sarah Carlson. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
