Obituary of Sally A. Gage

Sally A. Gage, 87, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 7:50 am Wednesday, July 7, 2021, in UPMC Chautauqua. Over the years she had also lived in Dalton, GA, Chattanooga, TN and Sarasota, FL. An area resident for most of her life, she was born January 30, 1934, in Silver Creek, NY, a daughter of the late Harry and Marian Frost Gorndt. She was a member of the Chautauqua County China Painters and Antique Doll Club. She was also an accomplished oil painter where she enjoyed painting animals and landscapes. She loved music and sang in several area church choirs for many years. Surviving are two daughters, Lorie G. (John) Nelan of Mayville, NY, Rhonda S. Gage of Chattanooga, TN, a granddaughter, Lauren E. (Paxton) Craddock of Sarasota, FL and two great grandchildren, Maren and Elin Craddock of Sarasota, FL. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Gage whom she married October 4, 1952, and who died February 5, 2003, a son, Rick Donald Gage who died July 20, 1975, and a brother, Richmond Gorndt. A private graveside service will be held in the Lake View Cemetery. The Rev. Rick Miller, pastor of the Zion Covenant Church will officiate. Visitation will not be observed.
