Prayers and condolences to all the Lindells and Johnsons. Janet was such an inspiration to everyone who met her. It was a smile on her face in the hallways at school. It was her fierce determination on the track that I remember as a coach. She will be missed but always remembered.

Love and prayers to the entire family. Janet was a ray of sunshine from when I first met her as the cute little blonde girl in 7th grade, as a friend, and as a colleague. She remained positive and strong through her journey. A truly beautiful soul.

There are so many memories that i have of janet, and i will never forget all the times we shared together. She loved how i would give her back scratches and she would always ask me to do them for her. She let me sleep over at her house all the time and i loved keeping her awake with my annoying talks after me and callie would come home late at night from somewhere. I also loved chatting with her in the morning too. I will miss her sitting on the porch with our whole family at my grammas house together. I remember how much she loved my baby cousins and how cute she thought they were to play with. She loved sunsets. She thought of me and my sisters as her own daughters and treated us like we were. She would always talk about how proud she was of us and all of our accomplishments. The beach was her favorite and we have so many memories in OBX. Janet loved hearing all the scoop and stories i had to tell about anything going on in my life. I will miss everything about her and i will do everything i can to take care of my two best friends (cousins) who are her daughter and son. We have the best family ever and there will be a hole missing, but we will be there for each other.

A beautiful, sweet, kind soul who was (is) an inspiration to all of us - she found joy and purpose in her living - even - maybe especially - during the tough days. She always made everyone smile and truly cherished her family and friends. The Gifford family is blessed to have known Janet and the entire Johnson family - you guys are in our prayers. God bless you all and Godspeed to Janet.
Death is nothing at all…
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you,
Whatever we were to each other,
that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way you always used.
Put no difference into your tone,
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow…
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we always enjoyed together,
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me…
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was,
let it be spoken without effort, without the ghost of a shadow in it.
Life means all that it ever meant,
it is the same as it ever was…
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
What is death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind
Because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
Somewhere very near
just around the corner…
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost,
one brief moment, and all will be as it was before…
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

Janet was a dear friend who I loved, respected and admired. I was blessed to work closely with her for about a decade as she assisted me in my art classes with her students, making every project right alongside us, excited to share her art with Jim. She was the most positive and optimistic person I’ve ever met, without fail. Her joy and enthusiasm was contagious as we all shared many laughs each day and wishied we had more time as the bell rang. I’m sad for the light that has gone out in this world and the SW community and my heart breaks for her family who she always spoke about so endearingly, but I know she’s laughing, taking her walks, and fully at peace now with her Lord. Prayers to her precious family and a great big thank you to Janet who has inspired us all. What a legacy of strength and love she leaves behind. We should all hope to leave that same lasting impact.

We will remember Janet as a loving, kind, caring person who lived life to the fullest. She was always happy and always made you feel special when she said hello with a smile. I will always remember the din we had at the 4th of July parties. She was always happy and laughing. We will truly miss her. Our love goes out to the Lindell and Johnson family.
