I remember Dr. Griffo and the entire Griffo family with the deepest fondness from growing up together on Chestnut Street where we were among the three families with six children each. Dr. Griffo was a kind and thoughtful man, full of endearment for the neighborhood kids. He and Mrs. Griffo gave great comfort to our family on the coldest of December days in 1960 when they took us us in their embrace as our home caught fire. Condolences to Mrs. Griffo and the whole family. I'm sure we are all blessed to have been in Dr. Griiffo's orbit.

Dr. Griffo was a kind and wonderfully friendly man. Even our three children actually didn't mind going to the dentist. We were his patients until he retired, and then we always enjoyed meeting him at the library or the grocery store, or whatever. We will miss him very much. --Anne & Bob Plyler/

So saddened to hear of Dr. Griffo's passing. I'll always remember their dentist office downtown, your mom as his nurse, and how he called me Marie "D". With his smile, a little twinkle in his eyes, and playful chuckle, he put me right at ease. My deepest sympathies to all his family, I'm sure he will be terribly missed. May God bless and comfort you as he is heading home to heaven accompanied by the angels and saints. Marie D'Angelo Rensel

Uncle Joe was the greatest Uncle. Always a smile, kind word, and a generous heart. A true gentleman. He taught me how to fish, water-skiing and what it means to be truly committed to a helping profession. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, a loving father, a great dentist and a kind man. To me, he will just be remembered as my sweet Uncle Joe!

In 1977, during the dreadful snow storms, I received a phone call from Joe. I was the new pastor of the Fluvanna Community Church, located right across the street from his office. He informed me that all of his scheduled patients were canceling and offered to clean my teeth for free. Well, that bonded us together for many years. What a wonderful positive kind considerate man he was! Rest in peace. Calvary covers it all.

Like my wife, Jana, mentioned. We enjoyed meeting your mom and dad at their home in NY. Mary, both your mom and dad were very kind and hospitable. I could not thank your dad enough for all of the dental equipment that he generously donated to our cause in Haiti.
May eternal rest be granted to him.
May the fond memories of joyous moments spent with Dr.Joe quickly overwhelm the grief experienced at his passing.
Blessings,
Dcn Bob

Dr. Griffo was always so kind and happy. I will never forget him humming and whistling during our dental appointments, and how much I looked forward to seeing him and Mrs. Griffo. He is the number one reason why I became a dental assistant. In loving memory, Jenifer Neubauer Williams
