Obituary of Marjorie D. Warner

Marjorie D. Warner, 100, formerly of Jamestown, died Thursday September 16, 2021, in Austin, TX. A Jamestown area resident most of her life, she was born March 12, 1921, in Lakewood, a daughter of the late Marshall and Thyra Johnson Grant. She attended Lakewood High School before getting married. She was a babysitter for many children for several years. She was also an election inspector for many years. Her warm personality and smile made her a natural for both jobs. Her favorite thing to do was socialize. She loved get-togethers with family and friends. She loved talking on the phone with loved ones, playing cards and going out to get a cup of coffee, lunch or having dinner. She traveled to Rochester, Ocean City, Madiera Beach Florida, Texas and North Carolina. She was truly loved and admired by everyone that she came in contact with. She had a golden aura about her and never met a stranger. People gravitated towards her and just seemed to enjoy having conversations with her. She was a member of the Golden Agers. Surviving are two children Judy Parker, with whom she made her home in Austin, TX, and Sandra Martines of Charlotte; four grandchildren Christian Parker, Corey Parker, Karin Warner Agoulnik and Eric Warner and ten great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Warner, Sr., whom she married December 22, 1939 and who died September 1, 1987, Richard Warner, Jr., and a grandson Casey Parker.
