Obituary of Alta M. Stahlman

Alta M. Stahlman, 57, of Lakewood, NY, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, in the University Hospital, Cleveland, OH, following a brief illness. A lifelong area resident, she was born July 15, 1964, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Richard W. and Rita "Kay" Barger Vogle. Alta was a 1982 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She was currently working for the Chautauqua County Veterans Service Agency as an eligibility and enrollment coordinator at the Jamestown outpatient clinic. She had previously worked for the former WCA Hospital as the Secretary to the Director of the Chemical Dependency Department and for Crossett, Inc. in Warren, PA. She will be remembered as one loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Ryan. She enjoyed antiquing, flowers and was a master decorator. Surviving is her husband, Dana E. Stahlman, whom she married August 23, 2013, a son: Alexander J. Golden of Lakewood, a grandson: Ryan M. Golden of Jamestown, a step-daughter, Jessie Stahlman of Stow, NY, a brother: Michael (Julie) Vogle of West Ellicott, and two sisters: Susan Humphreys of Jamestown, and Sharon "Wickie" (David) Stapleton of Ashville, NY, and her nieces and nephews, Chad (Heather) Humphreys, Ben (Lindsay) Humphreys, Joshua Vogle, Zach Vogle, Jennifer, Amanda and Tyler Stapleton. Besides her father who died September 4, 2003, and her mother who died November 19, 2007, she was preceded in death by a son: Michael J. Golden who died November 27, 2020. The family will receive friends from 2-5 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Luke Fodor, Rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church officiating. The family suggests that memorials be made to the St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 410 North Main St. Jamestown, NY 14701. Due to new COVID-19 policies, masks are required to be worn inside the funeral home regardless of immunization status.
