Obituary of Helen L. Shilling

Helen L. Shilling, 89, formerly of 258 Valleyview Avenue, died Sunday October 17, 2021, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was born September 2, 1932, in Mentcle, PA, a daughter of the late Peter and Rosemarie Presto Rizzo. Prior to her retirement she was employed by WCA Hospital in the linen department. She earlier had worked for Jamestown General Hospital and she, along with her husband, owned and operated Melody Inn and Four Coins Lounge. She enjoyed playing cards, but more than anything she loved time spent with her family. Surviving are four children Connie (Carl) Parker, Bonnie (Bob) King and Terry (Debbie) Shilling all of Jamestown and Dennis (Pam) Shilling of Lakewood; Stepson Bill (Sandy) Shilling of Murrells Inlet, SC; twelve grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters Louise Moore of North Carolina and Erma Smogyi of Mentcle, PA and a brother John "Muzzy" Rizzo of Mentcle. She was preceded in death by her husband M. James Shilling, whom she married October 22, 1950; and who died October 5, 1994; a great grandson; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
