Obituary of Bonnie L. Davidson

Bonnie L. Davidson, 80, of Bemus Point, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022 in UPMC Chautauqua. She was born Aug. 10, 1941 in Mayville, a daughter of the late Clare E. and June E. Parker Schutt. She was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended North Central Bible School in Minneapolis. Bonnie was a member of Church on the Rock and lived her life for her Lord and Savior. Before retirement, she worked for her family's business, Schutt's Saw and Mower Service where she worked alongside her husband Vern, her son Denny, her brother David, her niece Julie, and nephew Dan. Bonnie enjoyed going to the woods cutting and splitting firewood with her husband Vern, loved to quilt, and needle point. She was an avid NASCAR fan especially Jeff Gordon. In earlier years, she was involved in helping her father with maple syrup. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Vern P. Davidson, whom she married Aug. 13, 1960; a son Kevin Davidson of Rochester; a daughter Denise (Brad) Martin of Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter-in-law Julie Davidson of Jamestown; four grandchildren: Erin (Matthew) Johnson of East Bethel, MN, Kelly Davidson of Estherville, IA, Michael (Tammi) Martin, Matthew (Natalie)Martin; five great-grandchildren: Jason, Jack, and Luci Johnson, Maddie and Caleb Martin and one on the way; a sister Cheryl (Bob) Gardiner of Sebring, FL; a brother David (Barb) Schutt of Panama; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Dennis R. Davidson, whom passed away on Nov. 18, 2021 and a sister Nancy L. Johnson, whom passed away on Sept. 1, 2015. Friends will be received from 1-3 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022 in the Lind Funeral Home immediately followed by a private family service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church on the Rock, Lakewood.
