Obituary of Dolores M. Johnson

Dolores M. Johnson, 91, formerly of 2012 Shadyside Rd. Lakewood, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was the widow of Vern R. Johnson, whom she married August 6, 1949, and who died July 12, 2001. Dolores was born in Jamestown on May 10, 1930, the daughter of the late Edgar and Lottie Hall Carlson, and was a graduate of Lakewood High School. She enjoyed her many years as a bus driver for Southwestern Central School and was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Busti Historical Society, and the Hilltop Spinners. Surviving are three children: Sally Crawford of Falls River Mills, CA, Allan Johnson (Holly) of Falconer, and Shirley Johnson (Craig Boehler) of Lakewood; a son-in-law, Frank Hirsch of Ashville; six grandchildren: Allan Johnson II, Ann E. Lynn, Brian Crawford (Nera), Kristoff Hirsch (Megan), Lauren Ryan, and Nicholas Mest; and seven great-grandchildren: Brodric Johnson, Hudson Johnson, Reese Johnson, Austin Lynn, Olivia Lynn, Brandon Hirsch, and Margaret Ryan. Besides her husband, Vern, Dolores was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Ellen Hirsch; son-in-law, Steve Crawford; great-grandson, Kristoff Hirsch, Jr.; and a brother, Allan Carlson. A private family service will be held. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for Dolores will be held at a later date to be announced.
