Obituary of Patricia Oleshak
Patricia "Patty" Oleshak, 62, of Jamestown, NY, passed away peacefully, at 9:45 am Wednesday, January 12, 2020, in her home, following a lengthy illness and surrounded by her loving family and her beloved dog.
An area resident for most of her life, she was born August 19, 1959, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Charles G. and Ann M. Swanson Panebianco.
Patty attended St. James Parochial School and was a 1977 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Business College.
In earlier years she was an administrative assistant for United Industries, Inc in Jamestown, NY for several years.
She was an active member of the Jamestown Community Chapel where she enjoyed being part of the women's ministry and other church activities.
Patty spent the last 18 years of her life being married to her husband Tim. The two of them had a unique and special bond that fit them perfectly. They were always there for each other and their family's needs.
She enjoyed being with her large family. Over the years, she created and had a special bond with her three sisters, Mary, Teresa, and Diana. They spent countless times together laughing and taking care of each other.
Patty's special joy was her two daughters, Mandy and Kelly, and her grandchildren. She was a very active parent and grandparent, involved in every aspect of their lives. She enjoyed nothing more than being with them and helping them with whatever task they were involved in.
Patty also had a special love from dancing, music, and the theatre arts. She was active in her youth in performing and continued that love in her later years. She also had a special affinity for the Halloween holiday. For decades she created her own hand-made, prize-winning costumes for her family and reveled in the joy of Halloween.
Her most important quality was her upbeat attitude and her bubbly nature. She was a forever optimist. She always strove to make the people around her happy.
Surviving is her husband, Timothy J. Oleshak whom she married May 10, 2003, two daughters, Amanda (Nate) Meleen of Lakewood, NY, Kelly Spencer of West Seneca, NY, four grandchildren, Noah Melquist, Jacob Meleen, Hailey Melquist, Zoey Meleen three brothers, John (Cindy Panebianco, George (Cathy) Panebianco, James (Sharon) Panebianco all of Jamestown, and three sisters, Mary Panebianco of Jamestown, Diana Stevens of Erie, PA, Teresa Stevens of Lakewood.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Paul Spencer.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Tuesday in the Jamestown Community Chapel. The Rev. Douglas Penhollow, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery
Friends will be received from 4-7 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home where masks are required to be worn at all times. The family requests that you wear bright colors, especially red, Patty's favorite color, during visitation and at the funeral service.
