Obituary of Sandra Lee Rater

Sandra Lee Rater, 69, of Fluvanna Townline Road, died Sunday January 16, 2022, in her home after a courageous battle with ALS. A native of Lakewood, she was born July 31, 1952, in Corry, PA, the daughter of Gerald and Betty King Bissell. She attended Southwestern Central School. She worked as a beautician for several years and later became a realtor for Real Estate Advantage. She was a member of Viking Lodge, Eagles, Moose, War Vets Recreation and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Surviving besides her mother of Frewsburg is her husband Rex Rater, whom she married August 19, 1982; four children Jerry McMaster of Jamestown, Tyler McMaster of North East, PA, Karen (Gary) Gross of Ripley and Fred Rater of Arizona; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father. Friends will be received from 11 am to 1 pm Friday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be led at 1 pm Friday.
