Obituary of Jean L. Moran
Jean L. Moran, 91, of Jamestown, NY, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Coming to Jamestown at the age of six, she was born August 28, 1930, in Detroit, MI, a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Helen M. Kuptz Law.
Jean was a 1947 graduate of Jamestown High School.
In previous years, she had worked for the former Viking Foods for 24 years. She also worked for Pearson's Market, Wegmans, and in earlier years at the former Dipson's Palace Theater and the former Shea's Theater.
She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and was a faithful volunteer at WCA Hospital for many years.
Surviving are her five children; Gregory (Sharon) Moran of Falconer, NY, Martha Consiglio of Jamestown, Daniel (Susan) Moran of Lakewood, NY, Patricia (Ed) Medina of Aurora, CO, Heather (Anthony) Holman of North Tonawanda, NY, six grandchildren; Jamie (Vito) Randazzo, Jasyn (Lauren) Consiglio, Niklas Moran all of Jamestown, Danielle (Christian) Gaddis of Hamburg, NY, Erin Crawford, Shane Crawford both of Aurora, CO, two great granddaughters; Madelyn Moran and Amena McGlotten and two step-granddaughters, Cecilia and Stella Wilson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, "H" Chuck Moran whom she married September 3, 1951, and who died September 19, 1992, a brother, Thomas Law, and two sisters, Dorothy Emslie and Helen Law.
A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. A celebration of Jean's life will be held at a later date in 2022.
Memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice and palliative Care, 20 West Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, NY 14750, Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701, the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
Jean's family would like to thank Dr. John LaMancuso, the staff at Lutheran, and Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care for their wonderful care of Jean during her final years.
