Obituary of Gene C. Christenson

Gene C. Christenson, 93, formerly of Frewsburg, passed away Saturday morning, January 15, 2022, at the Lutheran Home & Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 4, 1928, in Jamestown and was a son of the late Harry and Olive Wolcott Christenson. Prior to retirement, Gene was a toolmaker employed by MRC in Jamestown. A veteran of the US Army, serving from 1946 to 1951, he belonged to the Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion in Frewsburg. Gene enjoyed golf, bowling and in earlier years, archery. Surviving is his wife, Kathy Edwards Christenson of Lakewood, whom he married June 13, 1981; four children: Lee (Pam) Christenson of Arkansas, Margie (Dale) Robertson of Colorado, Tina (Joe) Sardo of Lakewood, and Douglas Johnson of Warren, PA; as well as six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Along with his parents, Gene was preceded in death by two sisters, Harriet Lester and Nita Ciancio, and a brother, Robert Christenson. Following Gene's wishes, no service or visitation will be observed. Burial will be in the Clymer Center Cemetery.
