Obituary of Janie L. Dibble Hunt

Janie L. Dibble (Hunt), 76, of Mayfield PA, formerly of Ashville, NY., died unexpectedly (I mean - the downside of humanity is that eventually we are all going to pass - Unless you are Walt Disney and can afford to Cryogenically freeze yourself in the event we advance to reanimation) on Thursday February 24, 2022, in CMC Hospital, Scranton, PA. Janie - NOT Jane - as she would adamantly decree - was born on June 15th, 1945, in Corry PA. She was the daughter of the late James Raymond Kolstee and Violet Maxine Wingard Kolstee. She attended and graduated from the Clymer Central School in Clymer, NY. Janie held a couple of jobs starting with Erie Plastics back when the place was humming, she then moved on the TRW in Falconer NY. She met the love of her life, Wesley Dibble, there. Fortunately for her - he was equally infatuated. Together they built a life and also a beautiful daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth. They also blended their other children into the family. They spent their free time traveling and going to circus events. They attended Fluvanna Church for several years, and both served the community. When Wes passed it nearly took Janie then, but her love for her family kept her going. She was steadfast in helping Jennifer through the loss of her dad and finishing college. Janie worked for Legal Aid in Jamestown as the financial manager for the last 18 years of drudgery (another human condition - unless you are lazy or born to wealthy parents) before retirement. Janie was able to travel with a lifelong friend to Germany and see some of the beautiful architecture there. She also was able to take part in a mission trip to the Ukraine. Most recently Janie moved to Mayfield, PA., to be closer to help Jennifer and Steve with their newest addition - Jonathan Wesley. Janie took great joy and pride in her kids and grandkids. Before the move she had been a member of Praise Fellowship in Russell, PA., and enjoyed many beautiful services there. Her other grand passion in life was crafting in many different mediums, she had 2 green thumbs and had beautiful flowers, she could make decorations that would fit in any Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. She could sew and her quilts were beautiful works of art. Janie had an ample supply of Ferra Roche on hand for the kiddos and always a smile and a hug. Janie started an obsession with horses in her children, starting with Tammy who passed that grand passion on to Sable and Zoe, and grandchildren that will live on in future generations to come. Those left behind to miss Janie are her daughters, Tammy Kolstee (Jonathan Jaquith) of Warren, PA and Jennifer (and Richard S.) Hensel of Dickson City, PA.; stepchildren Bart (Leslie) Dibble of Jamestown, Scott Dibble of Sinclairville, Becky Dibble of New Jersey; grandchildren, Sable, Morgan, Logan Kolstee, and Zoe Jaquith; Leah, Nora and Jonathan Hensel; several great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; a sister Marcia (Jerry) Koerselman of Clymer and a twin brother Jim (Sherry) Kolstee of North Clymer. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Dibble. The funeral will be held at 11 am Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery.
