What a wonderful person Janis was. I have fond memories of her as my music teacher and choir director at Jamestown Community College. I am so sorry to hear she was struggling for so many years. She is now at peace. May you find peace also.

I’m so sorry about Janis, but grateful that she is not suffering anymore. I thought of her often and was happy to have been able to keep in touch and speak with her a few times the last couple of years-it really did mean a lot to me. I have so many wonderful memories of your mom when we were growing up. The family vacations, picnics at Vikings and all of the get togethers were so much fun I will be forever thankful for. She was incredibly talented and had many great qualities that I always admired about her, one of those was making me feel like family. She will always be special to me.
My Deepest Sympathy to you and your families,
Sincerely,
Diane

"Mrs. Nelson" was my piano teacher for many years in the "60's." She was wonderful and patient, looking back I don't know how she did it. I will always remember the yearly recitals she put on. May your memories comfort you during this difficult time.

It was a joy to know Janis at Lutheran and to meet her three sons who loved her dearly and with whom she was so very proud. I think of all the youth who came to know music through Janis and all the parishioners who sang hymns accompanied by her. My prayers are with each family member and friend.

Jeff, Tom and Randy,
My cousin Melanie and I were your mom's very first piano students, when you lived on Thayer St in Jamestown in 1959. She also played at our wedding in June of 1971. I have thought of her so often through the years and especially when I play the piano. She was such a wonderful inspiration and teacher and I will never forget her. Meredith Nestle Seymour
