Obituary of Ruth Marie Rulifson

Ruth Westerberg Rulifson, 89 of Olathe, Kansas, died Sunday, March 20, 2022, surrounded by family. Ruth was born April 18, 1932, in Moline, Il. The daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Paul A and Rachel Sward Westerberg of Jamestown, NY. She attended Augustana College, Rock Island, IL and was a graduate of Syracuse University with a Masters in secondary education with a focus in English. Ruth retired from Butler Community College as an English instructor. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran church in Wichita, KS. She enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in Ruth Guild. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rulifson of forty-six years; brothers Paul A. and Ward W. Westerberg. She is survived by her four children Joy (Paul) Leimer, of Derby, KS; John (Elizabeth) Rulifson, of Shawnee, KS; Maj-Beth (Bill) Biernacki of Ellisville, MO; Erik (Sally) Rulifson of Overland Park, KS; six grandchildren Liz (Nate Jensen), Brian (Kelsey) and Andrea Leimer; Marie Biernacki; Ray and Rose Rulifson; sister-in-law Sharon Westerberg. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022, in Lake View Cemetery, Jamestown, NY.
