Back in the 1960s, Betty and my mom, Mary Ellen Scott, were parent chaperones for my sister's Girl Scout troop when they went camping at Timbercrest, sleeping overnight in the Program Center of the newly built Bellinger Lodge.
During the night, there were noises and some of the other moms became convinced that mice had walked over the flatware. In the morning, they insisted on boiling all the flatware to sterilize it. My mom loved retelling this story because apparently, she and Betty found the effort ridiculous... And then... they secretly used the the boiled water to make coffee. I can just imagine the eye rolls and secret giggles that must have ensued.
Condolences to the family of this remarkable woman.

My Dear Tina,
I am so sorry about Mrs.P, she was a wonderful mom, and human being.
I used to pay attention to you and your dance skills, not to mention her
wonderful dance mom skills, When I had a daughter I got her into dance
at 3 and she danced till 18, 6 days a week for years. I always thought about you and
your mom, and what a wonderful dancer you were. Again, I am so sorry and you are
in my thoughts, and prayers. Love, Peace, & Joy

Sincere condolences to Mrs. P's family. I was one of her students at BOCES. She was always very caring and helpful. She spoke often of her family, it was easy to see you all meant the world to her. She gave me my first glimpse of what nursing entailed and I went on to become a R.N. and worked in the field for 42+ years. Sincerely, Marilyn Burdick Scarpine

The family of Lee 'Barney' Kellogg (1932-1995) and Joyce, extend to each of you our most-sincere sympathy in the passing of your loved one. Stay strong; I know you will.
Tina and John and families, I was so sorry to hear that Betty had passed; but, am thrilled she spent her last days with you, Tina. She was a dear friend, a friendship I have cherished for over 50 years.
Times were always so simple when we were neighbors and each of us MUCH younger. Know I think of you often and with much love. Spread the word to each of your loved ones; and be well.

To Betty's Family
Our hearts and prayers are with you. Betty will always live in our hearts, we had so much fun together at BOCES. Her smile, her laughter, her spirit will be missed.
"I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love." Leo Buscaglia
For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. Romans 14:8
