I’m Sally T Martinez. I worked with your mom, Ellie, and we were friends. I met your dad through your mom and we had good visits together. Your dad grew up on the west side of Buffalo and loved Bocce pizza. I used to bring them pizza when I went to Buffalo. You mom and I did yoga together. I miss them both very much.

I consider Phil Favata one of my favorite people! Yes, he did play at my reception in 1972 but more importantly we worked together at the Hewes Center BOCES, sharing our love, time and attention for the same students. Phil was wonderful and the kids loved him! He made everyday fun! Oh my goodness He could make us laugh with his down to earth, old fashioned sense of humor! I will never forget him and wish I could joke around with him one more time! He loved his Ellie and his boys so much. I think he was retired before the grandkids came! But my heart broke thinking of him living alone! I I hope you are playing that saxophone in heaven , making all our special kids who have passed laugh and dance! RIP my special friend. Say hi to Joyce. Don’t get in trouble!!

Mark and Philip,
Although we are not able to be in Jamestown this morning, our hearts are there with you and your dad. After nearly 51 years of living and growing up just a few feet from 359, your dad, mom, and you boys will always be a part of the South Main memories that we at 361 hold dear.
Love, Jim and Florence and family

I’ve thought about “Mr. Favata” many times over the years since Lakewood Elementary School. My friends and I were about ten years old in his speech class and found him to be fun to be in conversation with. Seems he lived a good long life, my condolences to his family and friends.

So sad to hear of Phil's passing he was such a sweet man and always made me laugh. He taught me speech when I was in 3rd grade and I was able to catch up with him later in life as a patient at the dental practice I work for. Prayers to his family and always remember the fun and good times you shared with him.
