My condolences to the family. I’m sure you have some wonderful memories to cherish.
I was proud to be a “Mr. Knight band kid” and then to know him and Linda, having worked with Linda.
RIP Bill - thanks for everything.

Mr. Knight was our band director at Lincoln Junior High School until the time of his accident. He instilled a desire for excellence that became a tradition at Lincoln. I always wished he'd been there for all 3 years that I was there. He had a big impact on all of us. He will be missed.

Our condolences to the Knight/Wakefield family. Todd and I are sorry that we couldn’t pay our last respects, as I’m currently isolated with Covid. We will miss Bill and the music coming from across the street. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I will forever call him Mr. Knight. What he gave me was
the gift of music and helped me find my love of the classics. He pushed me like no one else and made me believe in my talents. He was quick to share an album to expose me to different genres. I still reference him to this day and cry at
Hindemeth whenever I hear it. Thank you Mr.Knight. You are still a few part of me!

It begins, as most things begin, with a song. In the beginning, after all, were the words, and they came with a tune....Songs remain. They last.....A song can last long after events and the people in them are dust and dreams are gone. That's the power of songs. Neil Gaimen, Anansi Boys
Mr. Knight gave all of us the power of songs. He will forever hold a special place in my life. Thank you Mr. Knight.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Knight was my instrumental teacher at Persell Elementary and later, my band director at Lincoln Jr. High School. He demanded high performance because he believed that we could achieve it. I was a student there at the time of his injury. We all continued to play our instruments to his honor and won first place for him. My daughters briefly played french horn and took lessons from him. I was thrilled to be able to have them learn from him, too. He has left a legacy of music and much more.

I was a student at Lincoln when Bill first arrived. He was definitely one of the best music educators I was associated with. His motivation and inspiration led me through to receiving my degree in music education and then playing professionally for more than ten years. He will truly be missed by his music family. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I was a band member at Lincoln High School, and in some of the High School musicals that Bill was the musical director for. I can't say enough about how much he impacted all of us. He was kind and oh so talented! Whenever I have thought of him through the years, and I've done this often, the first thing I always do is smile. He was so funny. He made us laugh every time we were in his company, and his musical talent was astonishing. I've always thought that Bill was a great example of God's love on Earth. Angels are among us, and Bill was one of those. My sincere condolences to Bill's family on his passing.

My deepest condolences on the passing of Bill. I was a product of his private studio and have been a music educator for many years. Without Bill, I wouldn’t be the educator I am today.
