Obituary of Lisa A. Belk

Lisa A. Belk, 60, of Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, May 1, 2022 at UPMC Chautauqua. She was the love of her husband, Dennis Belk's life, and his spouse of eight years. Lisa was born January 20, 1962 in Jamestown, and was a daughter of Allen M. and Kaaren Nordstrand Swanson. She lost her hearing due to burns received in 1968 and was a graduate of St. Mary's School for the Deaf in Buffalo. An employee of The Resource Center for many years, Lisa was a Direct Support Professional Certified Advanced Trainer. She also enjoyed teaching classes for BMore American Sign Language (ASL) and was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. Lisa will always be remembered as a kind, most caring, and loving person. Her family meant everything to her. Along with her husband, Dennis, surviving are her parents, Allen and Kaaren Swanson of Jamestown; sister, Lou Ann Swanson of Greensboro, NC; nephew, Scott Swanson of Erie, PA and niece, Kelly Herrera of Barnegat, NJ; uncle and aunt, Jerry and Carol Johnson of Lake Wales, FL; aunt, Kathy Levandowski of Lakewood; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Peter Levandowski and grandmother, Marjorie Nordstrand. A private family service will be held and visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
