Muriel and I were classmates at Panama Central School starting in 7th grade. She, Sue and I were practically inseparable all those years. Her Mom and Dad had a cabin on Chautauqua Lake and a boat and we spent lots of crazy hours there. One of our favorite things was driving up to Chautauqua Institution during the summer, walking around spending time at the lake and having a picnic lunch in a park, by a stream or wherever. and enjoying the day! We did this every year starting in our sophomore year and a couple of years after we graduated. We all made the same picnic dish every year as well. Muriel made fried chicken, Sue made lemon meringue pie or brownies and I made potato salad. We all decided we wanted to be nurses after we graduated and that is exactly what happened! We did get together at our 25 year class reunion in 1992. My heart is saddened by her passing. I have searched for her on line a few times but was never able to find her. But, thank God, I have many wonderful memories of her friendship.....rest in peace my dear friend. Prayers to the Mazzone and Fardink families, may the Lord bless you with joy and peace in remembering Muriel.
