Obituary of Renee Garris

Renee Garris, 51, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, in the Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY, following an extended illness. An area resident for most of her life, she was born April 17, 1971, in Latrobe, PA, a daughter of the late Ronald and Brenda L. Agostino Garris. Renee was a 1989 graduate of Southwestern Central School and the Jamestown Community College School of Nursing. Prior to her illness, she was a Director of Personal Care at Tanglewood Manor where she had worked for over 20 years. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and outgoing person who loved spending time outdoors. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and tending to her beautiful gardens. Surviving is her companion of 15 years, Edward Latta, her siblings; Ronald (Debbie) Garris of Sugar Grove, PA, Gay Garris of Knoxville, TN, Tina (John) Trusso of Jamestown, NY, Lisa (Gary) Welch of Jamestown, NY, Carla Gebhard of Pittsburgh, PA, Tammy (Chris) Yarber of Jamestown, NY, Harvey (Victoria) Hollis of Youngsville, PA, Mark Garris of Latrobe, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harvey Hollis, Sr, a brother, Alfred Garris, and a nephew, Gary Lee Welch, III. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Adam Rohler, pastor of the First Covenant Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
