Obituary of Elizabeth A. Johnson

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Johnson, 96, formerly of 135 Buffalo Street, died Monday June 6, 2022, in the Lutheran Home. She was born September 6, 1925, in Monessen, PA, a daughter of the late George and Ann Tkac Petro. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Carborundum as a bookkeeper. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, St. John Catholic Church, and a member of Catholic Daughters. Betty was very proud of her Slovik heritage. She was a devoted wife, great support to her husband and extremely proud of her extended family. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, boating on Chautauqua Lake and ushering at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. Surviving are several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley E. Johnson, whom she married May 26, 1956, and who died March 19, 1993, and siblings Anna Ondich, Mary Hanak, Susan Kepic and Michael and John Petro. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday in St. John Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
