Florence W. Gens, 98, of 2488 Riverside Road, died Wednesday June 8, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 14, 1923, in Dunkirk, a daughter of the late Dewey L. and Nellie Gibbs Winchell, Sr.

Florence enjoyed cooking meals for her family, crocheting blankets for family and friends, reading romance novels, and solving word search puzzles. She was skilled at the computer game Bookworm where she scored over one million points. She loved to play card games, especially Canasta and Skip-Bo and she was very good at them, even being labeled a card shark.
She always loved visits from her special niece Claudia and the rice pudding she made. Florence was especially fond of her caregiver Lori from hospice and the many times they sang You Are My Sunshine.
Surviving are her daughter Lisa (Ray) Bentley, with whom she made her home; grandchildren Misty Bentley, Chelsea (Chris Norrod) Bentley and Zack Bentley and great grandchildren Ethan Bentley and Mason Sandberg; daughter Sharon Burger; grandsons Jason, Josh, Paul Michael and Adam Burger and several great grandchildren; a brother Dewey Winchell of Fredonia; nieces Claudia Shaw and Pat (Stan) Ferry both of Jamestown and Larry and Peggy Willis of Warren and several great nieces and nephews.
